Vision of the Seas, Baja California, November 1, 2002 - November 4, 2002

Skip the reading, take me to the photos right now!

Teri and Allyn Fratkin, along with our friend, Mike Truby, took a 3-night cruise on Royal Carribean International's Vision of the Seas, on November 1, 2002. The cruise left Friday evening from Los Angeles, spent Saturday in Ensenada, Mexico, spent Sunday plying the ocean waves off the California coast, and dropped us off back in Los Angeles on Monday morning.

It was Mike's first experience cruising, and despite having a cold, he had an excellent time. That's Mike on the left in the photo above.

Vision of the Seas is a newer, nicer, larger ship than Royal Caribbean usually has on this itinerary, which is why we planned our cruise for this ship. (RCI has since placed Monarch of the Seas (an older but newly refurbished ship) on this route).

For Teri and Allyn, this cruise completed another milestone (for cruise geeks, anyway): we have now cruised on every class of ship that Royal Caribbean offers. These are: Sovereign-class, Radiance-class, Voyager-class, Vision-class, and Nordic Empress, which is its own class since it has no sister ships. (The same was true for the Viking Serenade, which is no longer sailing under the Royal Caribbean brand.)

Helpful hint: If you're using Internet Explorer at 800x600 resolution you will have an easier time with less scrolling if you switch to full screen mode (press F11 key).
