Day 1: Seattle. Radiance of the Seas is a giant ship, the largest we have ever seen! |
We rushed to our balcony, and our friends Marc and Tami did the same. We waved and took photos. Having a balcony was really great. |
This is our cabin, 9204 on Deck 9. Marc and Tami were just down the corridor in 9210. We really like the bolder color scheme compared to the pastels on other Royal Caribbean ships. |
This is a shot toward the balcony. Note the curved bed to make walking around easier. |
Time to eat! We got some lunch at the Windjammer (we call it the Foodjammer) and ate lunch outside at the back of Deck 11. Even the Foodjammer was nice compared to other Royal Caribbean ships. Instead of the typical buffet line, this one was arranged with food islands. That's Marc and Tami on the left, Allyn and Teri on the right. |
Let's go tour the ship. WOW. This is a look down into the Centrum, the central atrium on all Royal Caribbean ships. But this one looks so fabulous. "Not all cruise ships are like this!", says Allyn. |
This is the main pool area. We didn't end up spending much time here because of the cold rainy weather. The glassed-in area is the Viking Crown Lounge, a feature on every Royal Caribbean ship. This is one of our favorite places to hang out because of the awesome views. Let's go check it out. |
Inside the Viking Crown Lounge. We went here at least once every day. |
The view from the Viking Crown Lounge toward the front of the ship. In front of the Sky Bar is a log that will be replaced with a totem pole when the ship reaches Alaska. Unfortunately, we won't be here to see it. |
